SOURCE: how to replace fuel pump on a 2002 ford E-150 van

With a jack under the gas tank...unbolt the gas tank and lower the tank 8 to 10 inches until you can reach the small bolts ( in a 6 inch circle ) that fasten the fuel pump to the top of gas tank. You might need to remove hoses to tank to lower. Disconnect electrical lines to fuel pump and remove.

1989 Ford Ecoline 150 van new fuel pump new filter but still won't get gas and start

The in-tank fuel pump may not be working however I would check and make sure you have power to the pump before just replacing it.Iyou don't have power at the pump then check the inertia switch and if that's doesn't have power check to see if the fuel pump relay is powering up the pump and repair as needed

I have 1989 f-150 4.9l 6 cly engine. The fuel pump shuts off.

check the emergency fuel shut off switch it may be half set it is on the firewall by the clutch pedal reset it if that does not work it is a relay or a short in the pump it is not pushing enough pressure to keep it running
