Dead truck i put in a new batterry in and it still wont start could it be the alternator?

One week, the truck started, the next it was dead. I jumped the battery with no result. I checked the battery, and it was near dead. I replaced it, but the truck still didn't start. A friend checked something with the clutch, but it was not the culprit. He then thought it was the starter. We tapped on the starter, but had no response. He thought it was the starter. I picked up a used starter for under $40 at a salvage yard, replaced the old starter, and the truck started up on the first try.

My 1999 chevy tracker will not start

Well the alternator won't have anything directly to do with an engine not starting. Only if the battery is dead because the alternator is not charging it.
If the engine cranks but does not start, someone will need to figure out if you are lacking fuel to the injectors, spark to the plugs, or compression to proceed with testing.

My 97 dodge avenger wont start

It sounds like a bad starter, but you still have to check power at starter start wire for 12 volts when the key is turned to start position. It is the smaller wire plugged into the starter. You still also have check for a good ground cable, most have bad grounds. Also, you need to check for proper voltage at the batterry first, to determine whether or not it is starter related. If the battery is dead then more than likely it is an

Car keeps flatening batterry light and indorcators wont work either

battery may be flat. You can check that with a multimeter.

Next check the alternator. Faulty alternator leads to uncharged battery.

My batterry was dead in my 1997 e320.....i hooked a battery charger up to the car for about a didnt i jumped the car...and now the car wont move at all...the engine is making a wavey...

Lets start with the battery
You put the charger on it,it wouldn't take a charge

You need a new battery

Then you jumped it
That is an unsafe practice and your
lucky it didn't blow up,since it was dead

Your car may have many issues, but it is
very dependant on a good battery because
it is all electronic

I have a dodge caravan 2002 it wont charge put on new alternator, and computer. it still wont charge. the wire on the back of the alternator is not showing any fire?

Why do you feel it isn't charging. Are you going off of a voltage ereadiing? I ask because if it is reading 12 v at the battery , Do not run it very long. The lower the voltage the higher the amps. An Alternator will ocweheat and self destruct if it is working at its high limit for 15 minutes or so. A heavy charge iis normal for 30 seconds or so to make up for the starting drain. But, should show a gradual rise within seconds. An alternator is for battery charge maintenance only and should never be used to charge a dead battery. A dead battery can an will over tax the alternator for too long. A defective battery will do the same thing and it is usually why you have to change the alternator in the first place. So, If your battery is dead or extremely lpw, it should be charged with a charger Do not put a new or rebuilt Aly. sgainst a possible bad battery. It costs nothing to have your batt load tested by a auto parts store. Good Luck=Ned-.
