the button pulls up not down to open, take two big screwdrivers and a wooden wedge and pry back top of door and drop wedge in to hold door frame back then use coat hanger with a small loop on the end to lift the button up.in the car rental game i could open a car within 30secs honest

first be sure that its the engine light and not the "service" light. the service light will usually illuminate if its time for an oil change. if its the service light ur owners manual should tell u how to reset it. if its ur engine light then try disconnecting ur positive battery cable for 1 minute. that should reset ur ecm and get rid of the engine light. if the engine light comes back on then have a diagnostic scan done to determine whats causing it. A slim Jim is a fishing expedition. What you need to do is not worry about diagrams. Realize that the locking mechanism has just a very few parts that interconnect. The key hole where you insert your key, and the lock button that go up and down (or in some cases forward and back) are mechanically connected. It's that connection your fishing for and trying to move. You need to 'fish' between the lock and the button and try and 'hook' that linkage and move it in the dirction that moves your lock button to the unlocked position. If you really need a diagram many of the car part web sites will display a diagram for car parts. I've unlocked alot of doors with the method described and have never seen a diagram for what I'm doing. Good luck!

how do you unlock it.... with the fob?
If so, get it reprogrammed (bring all the fobs at once)
If you unlock it with a turnkey, of course it will set off the alarm!
