SOURCE: loss of power, engine will only idle and not

Hi
It sounds like the EGR valve, that is "exhaust gas recycler vale" common on this model. also worth checking the air mass sensor, both these parts can be cleaned and still work ok, try spraying them with carb cleaner, it 99% of this fault it is the EGR. is the engine light on? they cost about £130 from ford as I recall. but do try and clean it first as they get very dirty.
Regards
Dan

Diesel loss of power

check and change the fuel filters including the water filter.. If you are using a bio diesel then don't. Check and bleed any air out of the pump and lines. check that the air valve on top of the tank is clean and allowing the tank to vent and not get a vacuum. Check for a moss like substance in the tank as it will seriously affect the diesel and injectors. Basically It sounds as if the pump is starving for fuel from a blockage or air in the system.

Loss of power to renault megane diesel 1.9 dti

biggest cause of loss of power on this model is the accelerator pedal module ,what happens is the car runs ok then just loses power stop and turn it off then restart and it runs ok again for a while ,time between slow downs can vary depending driving conditions.

Kia carnival diesel engine start and run but no acceleration..what a problem cause...

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

2008 F250 Diesel

It sounds like a problem with your computer or injection system. the computer controls the amount of fuel put in the cylinders when you step on the gas. But it sounds like your truck's computer is having problems controlling this and when you accelerate hard or are towing and step on the gas, the computer just pumps diesel into the cylinders which causes the rough running(i assume misfiring and what not) and the loss of power. But when your not towing or accelerating hard, you are better controlling the amount of fuel going into the cylinders so there arent any problems. Go back to the dealer and tell them there is a problem with the injection system and it adds too much fuel when you try to get a lot of power out of it.
