Question about 2003 GMC Yukon
My truck lights dim while it is running and brightens when you give it gas, i think it could possibly be my alternator cause my battery guage also moves up and down
It could be. But first check to make sure the small wire coming from your ground cable to your fender is secure. If this cable is not attatched or loose, the headlights will flicker.

theres a simple way to check the alternator on a car all you have to do is take the pos cable off while the car is running and it stays running then its good...if it dies its bad. you could have a problem with your ignition but not likely...its going to be between the battery and the alternator.

The regulator in the alternator is most likely the problem.
The alternator could be charging.......just not correctly....... the flickering headlights are showing a varying voltage.......and with the charging light flickering too..........99% chance you need a complete rebuilt alternator.
