Question about 2003 Nissan Murano

2 Answers

Had the battery changed in 2007 nissan murano and now the chimes don't ring and the drivers doesn't automatically move back when opening the drivers door. How do I reset these?:

With power seats and keyless entry, upon opening the drivers door, the seat should automatically move backwards to allow easier entry. Also, the chimes don't sound when using keyless entry and the head lights should blink once or twice depending on whether i am locking or unlocking vehicle. None of these work since battery was changed. I don't know how to reset these. I also need to reset power seat memory but I can handle that one. Are these things I can do myself or do I have to take it to a nissan dealer and pay through the nose?

Disconnecting the battery erases stored memory, after you connect the battery put the key in the ignition cylinder and turn the driver door switch on(open) and off (closed), on (open),the entry, exist function then becomes complete, and the return operation can be operated,

You should be able to remove a main fuse to the passenger compartment to reset the settings for your seat. as for the chimes not working, check all the fuses under the dash incase they have blown.

I'm getting a cylinder misfire code on my 2007 Nissan Murano. what could be causing this?

9 times out of 10 a cylinder misfire is caused by either a bad spark plug or a bad coil over the plug. If the code told you which cylinder is bad, just switch the coil with the next cylinder and restart the car and rescan a code and see if the new code now tells you that the faulty cylinder misfire is moved to your new location of where you moved the coil to. (cylinder) - If it does you know the failure is with the coil.

Battery and brake lite will not go off

Hi,

Likely the alternator is going bad. Get it checked - for free - @ most auto parts stores, if you can replace it yourself. If not, any mechanic/dealer can test and replace it. You don't have to use a 'nissan-only' part, but buy the best one you can afford.

I have 2007 nissan quest. I replaced the battery and now the van only cranks and cranks but won't start. Also the alarm doesn't respond or the automatic doors don't function either. Someone...

If you follow the positive cable (right at the post in most cases) there is a 50 amp fuse. You may have blown that fuse whicgh is common when changing the battery unless you remove it. Connecting the positive cable first when installing the battery helps prevent this. Also there are several other fuses that you may have blown which connect to the theft system going to the body control module which will prevent the vehicle from stating. If the fuse on the posive cable isn't blown (which I bet it is) in the fuse panel in the vehicle check fuse number 3, 4 , & 19 . See layout diagram below. Also in the fuse panel in the engine comapartment you can check fuse number J and 25 . See layout diagram below. I hope this helps and good luck.

Disconnect the negative battery cable for 10 mins, then reconnect it and try. Sometimes it can lock out the Sirius unit, and by disconnecting the negative battery cable for 10 mins, clears out the whole system so it can be booted properly.

Thanks Jay!

Back up camera

I agree with Mike. The same thing happened to my 2007 Murano after I needed to get a battery jump -- my screen went black, no back-up camera, couldn't turn on radio or HVAC.

Brought it into my dealership who changed the battery, then they wanted to run a diagnostic (around $105/hr). I asked about the fuses, and thankfully, as it turns out, it was the "back-up battery fuse." Just paid for the battery and labor for that, and the fuse.
