Question about 2002 Ford Taurus
I was wondering if anyone could help us figure out what is wrong with my car. I've had it's flushed and filled.....also changed the thermostat. Changing the thermostat fixed the problem of not getting any heat at all but now my car blows cold air until your at 60 MPH.....or if you rapidly accelerate......then promptly goes back to cold air........Any suggestions? Oh my car is a 2001 Pontiac aztec
Sounds like heater core still plugged,and/or has air in system.I have had good luck with back flushing ( rinsing in reverse of normal flow) with a mixture of cascade dish washing detergent and water. This ("new and improved" Dex-cool antifreeze/coolant) sure does gum up and eat certain gaskets. When you have it refilled find a mechanic that has a vacuum operated filler. These are the greatest way to refill with no air pockets. Also could be the temperature blend door being incorrectly opened/shut though I doubt it.Hope this helps and please rate me!!
