Question about Cars & Trucks
98 Camry, 2.2, will turn over acts like it wants to start, but will not, checked plugs, wet with fuel, timing belt good, talked into changing relay, no start. any ideas?
If the plugs are wet with fuel that means not spark. it can be a few things. crank position sensor, ignition control module or the cam position sensor

I would definately check the fuel pump relay, should be located in power distribution box in your vehicle, you may be able to switch it out with a relay of the same type to see if it turns on the fuel pump, but you may need a new fuel pump if this doesn't fix it. Hope this helps.

Just make sure the timing belt is on properlyy, lining up the cam and crank in proper position to each other. The engine willstart when fully assembled because the electrical has not be altered. If it has a crank position sensor , be sure to put it back on after cleaning it and the connector.

SOURCE: won't start
check the spark, if spark is weak it will not start, also if battery is weak it will not start, it will crank but most of the AMP from batttery is taken by the starter.
