This all depends on what engine you have and also if you are going to just do the belt.
this car , if you have a 100,000 miles or close you should do the job right, right meaning replace the timing belt ,water pump and timing belt pulleys and tensioner, this could run about $1200.00.
the same job with the smaller engine could be $800.00
if you just do the belt alone which is not the right way but can be done then it may cost about $500.00 -$600.00

The Sorento has a timing BELT not a chain. Here is an image of the 3.5 litre engine & the timing marks. Note: special tools are required to hold the camshaft sprockets in place when belt is installed to prevent any movement....I hope this helps.

Unless you are mechanic, you better have the dealer do this. The manifold is in the way and must be removed to gain access. Fortunately, with long life spark plugs, you will probably need to do this only once.
