I had a ford mustang and it did the same thing. It felt like u were going over a cattle gap. I changed the transmission fluid and it corrected the problem. Also, change filter.

It's a 2000 Isuzu rodeo that will want shift in higher gears acts like it's in N shifts in to drive and reverse fine but want shift in higher gears

we cant guess your drive line, not now or ever.
so why ask. us?
my guess you mean the car drives in 1st gear but will not upshift,
and flares, in a false neutral.
wont and want is speed wrong 2 times, why?
Is car with TOD? torque on demand option, we cant see the dash board, we be like blind.
check fluild levels yet,
get the box serviced last decade, (a full flush and filter,) sure no.
check fuses, maybe car has TCM that cant up shift due to fuse blown.
and last did you scan it, if not why not
that be 3rd step after levels, fuses, then scan.
if the TCM cant see sensors, it cant upshift,
TCM is the tranny brain.

I have a 2000 ford expedition XLT triton v8. And it won't go into reverse but it goes into all the other gears fine but if I keep moving shift to D to R and sometimes it grabs but jerks and no R

Could be a stretched linkage or a broken ban
.. if it is the ban the transmission will be thunky and shift hard into other gears and eventually will go one gear after another... fatal to the transmission... but first check the transmission fluid to see if it smells funny

( burned)

2004 Ford expedition check engine soon light is flashing and car shakes hard when stepping on the accelerator

Your car is misfiring. You should not drive the vehicle while it is misfiring. If you want to DIY it you can start with you ignition system. Make sure all spark plugs, plug wires, and ignition coils are secure and in good condition.

It sounds like the torque converter is burned up, and will have to be replaced. If the TC is new, it should be replaced under warranty. If it was the old TC, you should ask the rebuilder/installer to install a new one that you would pay for (but not the install since they damaged your old one).

quote http://www.aa1car.com/library/2002/bf90222.htm

One of the most common complaints with automatics is fluid leaks. Fluid can leak out of the driveshaft seals, the input shaft seal, the transmission pan gasket, the torque converter or the ATF cooler and line connections. If the fluid level gets low, the transmission may be slow to engage when it is shifted into drive. Gear shifts may be sloppy or delayed, or the transmission may slip between shifts
