do you have a way I can e-mail you pictures?

  • tcmet Jan 25, 2009

I found out what it was. It was the lower Torsion bar and Ford knows they are snapping so they have made the part longer so not only did I have to replace the broken one but the other side too so they are the same length. Then while on the lift we discovered that the upper Torsion bar on the driver side rear is snapped too. So now we ordered them. Ford is horrible never agian will I buy a vehicle from them.

Try a salvage yard or an aftermarket place that sells parts and you can take pictures to them or the car itself and they can help you find what you are looking for

Try rotating the tires and see if the noise follows the tires. If it does problem solved. You need to get a couple of tires.

Metty@att.netFuel pump not working

Did you check the Fuel Inertia Switch in the passenger side kick panel ?

If you did, and it is not tripped, might want to check the FPDM ( Fuel Pump Driver Module ) to see if it has corrosion built up behind it, and cracked the PC board.

Here is what mine looked like on my 2006 ( salt in winters )
sscullys_144.jpg

This is the wide picture showing location.

The FPDM is mounted to the cross member, just in front and above the spare tire under the rear of the truck ( drop the spare tire to see it ) .. This picture is taken from the rear bumper, facing the front of the truck. The cable on the right is the spare tire lift and the tire on the left is the driver's side rear tire.

The new PFDM has stand offs to stop corrosion from cracking the module

Check the P/N to make sure there are no new revisions

How should I rotate my tires? I've had people say front to back, side to side? front to front, back to back?

It really depends on the tires. Some tires have a one-way tread pattern and are only supposed to rotate in one direction (i.e. ones that pull water away from the center of the tire). In this case, you must rotate driver-rear to driver-front and passenger-rear to passenger-front. If you have a symmetrical tread pattern, you should rotate driver-rear to passenger-front and passenger-rear to driver front.

If you post a picture of the tread pattern, I can tell you which you should do.

Im am rotating tires on a 94 jeep cherokee the

Move the passenger side rear tire to the front, and passenger side front to driver side rear. Switch the driver side rear tire to the front and driver side front to passenger side rear. Repeat this "X" pattern each time you rotate the tires. Rotate the tires from side to side if the tires are different sizes on the front and rear.

This is the better solution. Hope helped (remember rated this help)

Good luck.

Strange tire wear on drivers side rear

If the rear tire is as you say Messed up then the rear suspension bushes must be shot allowing the titre to scrub at an angle to the cars line of travel ]

If it is bad enough it will cause the car to crab

Jack the car up and see if there is play on the suspension leg by pulling it towards you or pushing it away

MAKE SURE THE CAR IS ON AXLE STANDS BEFORE YOU DO THIS
