They come off separate circuits so I owuld check connections at the battery & then back towards the fuse panel in the car or relay box under the hood. When it qiuts, put your finger on the battery connections and see if one is hot indicating a poor connection. Check other connections if you can.

Well difficult to answer without a good look but three main suspects ,a heater radiator or main radiator as they have rubber seals and plastic header tanks ,the water pump seal ,head gasket where its sucking the water in and burning it ---but as stated previously i would need my head under the bonnet sorry hood to have any idea

2001 impala overheating replaced water pump ,thermostat, after driving 6 miles heater stops blowing warm air car overheats?

sounds like head gasket, shes putting pressure out into your rad, check your big hose when idling see if they swell up with pressure, another way to check is to leave rad cap loose.

My coolant fans don't work. What should I look for? I'm bringing it to a repair shop a mile away. Will it be safe to drive it that far? The temperature here is about 100 degrees outside now.

Hi,
If you start out with a cold engine, the Bonneville should not overheat traveling one mile, with out the A/C on.
If you are in stop and go traffic, roll your windows down, turn heater on high temp and high fan, and shut the Bonneville off at stop lights.
Watch the heat gauge.
The coolant fans not working may be a fuse, relay, or temperature sending unit switch.
Best Wishes,
Wayne

Suv would just stop and not restart for 10-15 min. May drive several miles would stop again each time with white smoke coming from under hood. Mechanic changed "water hose" . Water now, draining into...

you need to replace your heater core. it is up under the dash on that side of the vehicle. but as for the white smoke it sounds like a possible blown head gasket or a cracked head.

Engine overheats when heater pipes connected

I think you could be right about there being air trapped in the system.
Or the heater core(radiator) is plugged.
Either way you need a pressurized radiator coolant pump to put the coolant in without air being trapped.
Although,i have seen it done by jacking the vehicle up high enough that the radiator was now higher than the heater core level, and then the coolant was put in.
But this is dangerous to try.

It is most likely the switch or the blower motor or the speed control resistor assy or solid state speed control, not sure which you have, check the blower first ( when it stops running) then the switch with a 12 volt test light to see if voltage is present. does this happen at all blower speeds??
