Hello and thank you for choosing fixya.com. The spark plugs, if vehicle is rear wheel drive, will be located as follow:
For V6 an V8 engines, the spark plugs are in-line with the exhaust manifolds located on the driver and passenger side of the engine. The exhaust manifold is connected to the exhaust on both sides. Look for wires connected to the plugs. Start with one, remove wire from plug; remove plug, gap new plug to appropriate specified gap setting, and insert into plug hole. NOTE: when putting in new plugs, gently turn the plug counter clockwise until it comfortably fits into the starting point of the thread. Cross threaded plugs are a pain to deal with, so be careful. Take the wire off of the coil pack or distributor, whichever is installed (follow wire) - match the wire to the new one (if changing wires), if not, connect the wire to the new spark plug and leave connected to the distributor or coil pack (agian, whichever is installed) - do this for each spark plug. TIP: start with the two rear plugs as they are the most difficult to get to, and are more timely.
Well, you are on your way to changing your spark plugs. I hope these instructions are useful you. Please do not hesitate to let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thank you again for choosing fixya.com.

Tips for a great answer:
The spark plugs in the v6 can become an involved job as the upper intake manifold. The LS uses a Coil on Plug (COP) ignition system, meaning that the spark plugs are located under the ignition coil

Locate the spark plug wires in the Cherokee cylinder head. In the 4.0 liter engine, the spark plugs are below the coil rail assembly. On the 4.7 liter engine, the spark plugs are located under each corresponding engine coil.
