Well I got a 94 Honda accord ex and when I try to start it. It won't turn over, when I turn the key half way some of the dash board light will come on but when i try to turn the switch all the way.every thing shuts off and it won't start

Did you get the key switch checked out ? The dash indicator lights have to be on for the engine to start. So you are not getting power to the dash lights, and probably not to the computer or ignition coil either.

I would have the ignition switch checked, not the key switch but whats behind the key switch. Ignition Switch!

check your battery connections then charge the battery over night then check the charging system

I think you may have a immobilisor problem try the spare key first

try your fuses etc ect

Is the dash light dimmer switch turned off? It is the number one cause.

That is either a sensor or an alarm system acting up. Not a Honda guy but on others thats what can cause that. If the key has a rfid chip its the alarm and you may need a new key from the stealer. what happens in that case is the car doesn't detect an authourised key and thinks it is being stolen and shuts off after a half second of running.

Yes, it sounds like your solenoid is bad and staying engaged against the flywheel, you could do an amperage draw and a voltage drop test to find out for sure, but you will need an DVOM and a amp clamp. Or you could take it into an auto parts store and they will test it for free. Hope this helps.

these cars have a pgmfi relay up under the dash do you hear it click when the key is turned on ? the relay is a double relay where 1 part turns on the computor the other turns on the fuel pump you can try smacking it and it might start the car
