Question about 2005 Ford Escape
Look from inside the hood, there is a black cover over the back of the headlight area that is retained by a stiff wire, snap it out of it's detent, and you will be able to get access to the back of the headlight bulbs. The bulb unit includes the elbow where the wires connect. If you cannot get the wire connector off don't sweat just twist the bulb about 1/8 th counter clockwise and remove the bulb , it should then be easy to get the wire plug off.
The bulb costs around $16 to $18 so don't touch the new ones glass with your fingers. Make sure when you replace back cover that the black seal is properly in place or your plastic lens will eventually fog up.
