Question about 2003 Volvo XC70

1 Answer

I changed oil in my 2003 volvo XC70 with a filter that is sold by O'Reily which contained a seal ring made of some kind of plastic/rubber and it is leaking. I looked at the filter cover and could see that the seal was partially outsid the cover but not completely out. I thought it was a good seal until the oil started dripping over the next few days. What could I do to prevent this from happening?

Maybe you got it too tight? It doesn't need to be super tight. either that or you just didn't get the seal positioned correctly.

Where is the oil filter on a 1990 chevrolet celebrity

If it is a 2.5 i found if in the oil pan has large ring you need to remove and replace with new one
the oil filter is an open type filter not canaster contained. drain oil and remove ring socket size is close to an inch but metric the you will see the filter just pull it off with a pair of pliers and slide on a new one then replace ring
dont over tighten ring as you might squish the rubber seal to much hope this helps >

2005 xc70 volvo ceiling leak when it rain

Sounds like rubber seal is leaking, check the rubber seals along the side of the windshield and along the inner door. The seal can be easily replaced or patched with silicon sealeant.

Hope this helps

What kind of Mobile 1 motor OIL in a 2008 XC70

Most synthetic oils run far below the first number and far above the second number when tested. The numbers on the container reflect the mid-range of performance.
To decide which oil to use or specifically which grade of oil to use, I'd suggest you google noyac volatility tests...the charts there show performance ratings of several oils and several test methods that might be interesting to you.

Is the oil drain plug and filter located under the plastic skidplate like guard under the car?

Yes. I beleive there are 4 bolts that hold this on. Also, the oil filter has a replacable element inside the outer plastic shell.
