Bulbs might look good but it dont mean they are. I suggest changing the bulbs.

The left rear turn signal on my 1998 Aurora will not flash. According to the Owners manual the correct lamp is a 3057. I have tried 2 new 3057 bulbs they light up but won't flash. The right turn...

Normally, it means either the front or the rear bulb is burned out. If front and rear bulbs are good, and that means both lamp filaments in both bulbs are good. It could be the flasher, a bad ground, a bad bulb socket, or the turn signal switch.

Trying to change a rear light bulb and dont know how to open it up

Rear Turn Signal, Brake & Parking Lights The taillamps, stoplamps and rear turn signals lamps are all incorporated into the rear taillamps. The taillamps are lit whenever the parking lamps or headlamps are in operation. The rear turn signal lamps flash with the front turn signal lamps whenever a turn is indicated with the turn signal/headlamp dimmer switch. The stoplamps light whenever the brake pedal is depressed and the stoplamp switch is closed.

The trim panel is likely held in place with retainers like this. Back out the screw to release tension on the pin legs and remove the fastener

The taillamp is retained by plastic wingnuts

Remove the plastic wing nuts from the taillamp housing

Remove the taillamp housing from the vehicle to service the light bulbs

  1. Open the rear compartment (trunk).
  2. If equipped, unhook the convenience net that stretches between the taillamps. It is attached to hooks molded into the plastic taillamp assembly retaining wingnuts. Loosen the rear compartment trim panel. It is retained by plastic pins with a screw in the center. Back out the screw to release any tension on the plastic pin legs, and pull the trim (thin carpet-like material) for access to the taillamps.
  3. Remove the plastic taillamp assembly retaining wingnuts.
  4. Remove the taillamp assembly from the vehicle and service the light bulbs as required.
  5. Installation is the reverse of the removal process.
  6. Test the lights for correct operation.

No rear turn signals, front turn signals light but dont flash

the problem is a bad flasher. $10.98 at advance auto. remove panels under steering wheel with 9/32 socket. It is hard to see turn blinker on to confirm it should tick each time. should take about 1/2 hour.

Rear blinker does not work need to access bulb

Your rear bulb is burnt out if you say the front one is working .. the speed up of flashing means your bulb is bad.. you might have to get in the trunk and unscrrew those hand wing nuts and push that tail light outward to get to the bulbs ... thanks Jerry and holler if you need more.

Replacing rear turn signal bulb in 2003 Mustang

remove the trim panel at the very rear of trunk, remove it and place it out of the way, remove tail light Assembly retaining nuts top and bottom, I think there are 6 per side, pull the tail light assembly straight back to access the bulbs for replacement.
