Two philips screw on the handle ( the one u use to shut the door), one on the far right handside in the middle, one in the other handle ( the one u use to open the door with), after u removed all the screws, put a flat screwdriver at the bottom of the panel and pull it off.

Have you tried WD 40 to see if it will losen the lock?
If that doesn't help, your lock cylinder is more than likely the culprit. Does the key work on the passenger side?
You may have a problem with the linkage inside your door panel.

the solenoid may be weak, or it can be lubed. you will need to remove the door panel and see how it works, and try to lube it, or see if there is any binding.

How to remove a 1999 civic se left door panel

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

Drivers door will not open from inside or out

If you,ve managed to gain access to the lock mechanism the only thing you can do is to try to dismantle it from inside the door. You may have to destroy it to get it apart but you can then move the latch to open the door. Then remove rest of lock mechanism and replace. You should be able to pick one up from a car breaker for approx £10

Gears are stripped on drivers door window crank 1999 honda civic

First you are going to have to purchase another window regulator. Then you will have to remove the door panel and all material until you can access the window regulator.

At this point I can't go further until I know if it has manuel windows or power windows, because each is an entirely different operation.
