Cold start idle (fast idle) does not work

My Town Car 2002, starts great, but will not idle until it warms up. Is there a fast idle module or something that needs replacing?

You need to replace your idle control sensor. I would take the time to pull the throtle body off its very simple, and clean it out real well while your in the area.

Could bad maf sensor and bad idle air valve have vehicle stall then hard to start for awhile and cuts off after 10 minutes of driving

I would also suspect the ignition module. They tend to work ok for a few minutes when they are cold, then fail once they warm up. If you wait awhile for the ICM to cool down, it will work as well as it can until it warms up again. A code scanner is your best friend to know where to start looking, and to perform tests and log data.

My 1994 samurai idles really high when I first crank it, but later slow down. is there anyting I can do to ?

From a cold start my sami idles really fast, but as I drive it and the engine warms up it will idle correctly. Is there a way to make it idle slower from a cold start?
what engine ? 1.3 L
carb or EFI? (94 was first year of efi, and many have been converted this old)
but the answer is the same , that is normal.
on car its a fast ilde cam on the carb.
in EFI its on the software and in the IAC thermal valve.

My 2002 Chrysler Town & Country started shaking yesterday not violently but I could tell it was not normal. It was perfectly fine when I left my house. I went to turn down a road to get to a friend's...

COLD WEATHER IF YOU HAVE WATER IN FUEL.ENGINE WILL SHAKE AND SPUTTER.TRANSMISSION WILL ACT UP IN COLD WEATHER.CHECK COOLANT LEVEL AND TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL WHEN YOU FIRST START VECHICLE.LET VECHICLE IDLE UNTIL IT GET WARMED UP.THAT SHOULD HELP.FILL UP FUEL TANK PUT A BOTTLE OF FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER AND GAS TREATMENT IN TANK SEE IF IT HELPS.

89 dodge shadow. hard start. normal idle cold, fast idle warm. sometimes it wont start until i hear fuel pump activate.

Hello,
The car may be hard to start because it may need a normal tune-up. If the spark plugs are pretty used, they will slowly stop burning as much fuel because the spark slowly gets lesser and lesser. On a cold day the fuel is harder to ignite with a small amount of spark.
Normal idle when its cold means that your cars idle is probably too high. If you lower the idle, the choke on a cold day will keep the idle a little higher until the motor warms and then it will kick back off. If the idle is too high, it will run very rich, smothering itself with fuel, and causing the idle to stay low. When the car warms, its creating better spark when its warm, and with the idle being too high its running at a fast idle.
The car wont start sometimes can be the cause of a few things. If the ground is bad on the fuel pump, it wont make a good connection sometimes for when you turn the key on, the fuel pump dont pump the fuel to the engine. Another one can be that your accessory switch can be loose going to the fuel pump. I think its your ground though. Good luck! Hope this helps.
Have a nice day. -Steve

Car starts fine..Idle is fast...stalls after car warms up

Check for vacuum leaks. Also try cleaning the ISV.
