Question about 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe

1 Answer

I have 1999 Chevy Silverado and the CD Player doesn't work.

The CD player will not work and I want to replace it with a Used or replacement player. Is there some diagram of how to remove it and to obtain a new or different one?
Any suggestions on getting an installation diagram and where to obtain a different one?

You will have to remove the Front Dash panel to access this. It will have either Plastic Snap Tabs or 2 Screws Holding it in. Pull it out and Disconnect the Wiring Harness. Some of these did not have a Harness, Just a Direct contact at the Back of the Mounting Box. Crutchfield.com has a Vast Amount of Replacement Players. If you want the Same one to replace this one, You will have to go to a Salvage or get a New one from the Dealership.

CD player all of a sudden says error. Was working fine up to that point. Please help!!!

Typical Chevy problem...those units do it all the time.

Either take it out and have GM fix it for around $200, or go get yourself a nice aftermarket stereo

DASHBOARD

you should'nt have to take out the whole dash. a few screws on the molding that surrounds the cd player and you should pull the casing out. The moulding goes from the radio to the dash, it's that big, but thats about all you have to mess with, other than replacing the stereo.

2004 Chevy Silverado factory Stereo, CD is stuck in player, sounds like it is trying to eject but won't!

I searched quick and couldn't really find anything on a manual eject button. Flip through the manual a little bit and see what it has about the radio. If all else fails and you aren't worried about possibly breaking the stock cd player, some skinny needle nose pliers should reach in far enough to grip the cd and you can pull it out. But there is a good chance you could break the cd player in doing so.

Go to your local chevy dealer and get it there, or go to a local salvage yard to get a used one for cheaper.

INTERNAL MALFUNCTION OF THE RADIO.. CHEAPEST SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM IS TO REPLACE THE RADIO WITH EITHER AN AFTERMARKET RADIO OR A USED RADIO FROM A WREAKING YARD.
