A vandal broke my driver side mirror. I replaced with a used one. Did not care about power mirror and cut cable off. Now Power Windows don't work. Passenger power mirror works. Are windows wiring tied to power mirror?

well, the first thing is to check the fuses and or relay for power windows.should be listed in your owners manual. if ok, then remove switch from drivers side window and check for power. if power to the switch then use a jumper wire from power side to motor side of switch. if window works then its the switch causing the problem. Good-day!
Hello and welcome to FixYa!
What you hear can be the cable of the mechanism. The steel strands tends to worn out which can make a glass cutting sound. You may want to replace the power window cable to resolve the problem.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
did you check power mirror fuse? if ok, remove your power mirror switch at the driver side and clean the contact area, take a test light and check all wires for good connection. one by one test the voltage output,-/+ by pressing the switch, if all wires have output -/+ , and mirrors still not working, remove the switch connector, find out the three wires going to power mirror and direct it to - and positive voltage alternately, if the mirrors move, repair the wire that cut on the moving area, if still not moving repair or replace the two motors inside the mirror
This is a typical GM problem, most likely are broken wires on the driver's side door. Every time the door is opened and closed, the wires running from the door to the car body flex. Over time these wires break and cause loss of use for power options like you have. It could just be coincidental that they broke in a rain. There could be other electrical problems such as relays that have become wet and failed or a wide variety of other solutions. Electrical problems never have only one answer
Feed the power mirror wiring through the opening in the front door (20124).
NOTE: When the battery (10655) is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
if you open the door you can pop off 2 pieces of plastic that reveal 3 bolts. 3/16 (i think)socket works and you will need an extender. but it is literally 3 bolts and that is it. i bought the part from a dealer and it was $40 and they wanted $90 for install. took me 15 min.
