please explain what you mean...i will forward it on to my boyfriend.

  • mom2jndmc Jan 17, 2009

He said that he bought the wiring kit and used it as directed, and that he disconnected the battery as suggested to prevent surges and shorts. He didn't need the dash kit, it fit perfectly. And my questions ( i know little about cars, sorry...) would a short mean that fuses would blow, or that the wiring would be ruined?

He disconnected the stereo and the lights still didn't work. No fuses are blown. The mechanic is working on it but says that something with the wiring might be messed up.

When you Installed the Stereo, How did you Connect the Power and Blue Memory Wire? This could have a LOT to do with your Problem.

If you used the Lighter for the Memory Wire, It will short a few Things out if you do not install a Larger Fuse. The Best way to Install the Stereo is to get an Adapter Plug that will match the Factory Harness for the Stereo. All this Depends on how it was Installed.

Fuses should be Blown. Check the Fuses and then Disconnect the Stereo from the Harness and see if the Lights come back on.

Yep! See if the Mechanic can Run a Diagnostic Check on the Wiring to see which Relays are Bad.

The hazards use a separate relay. listen for signal relay clicking to locate the correct relay. Consult your owners manual for fuse and relay layout.

I have a 1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager. Last week, the rear blower stopped working and the brake lights no longer function. All other lights work. The front blower works just fine. All fuses are...

The rear blower and the brake lights might not be related troble. The rear blower has a ballast resistor that can fail and it's next to the blower motor in the rear heater housing. The blower motors are also known to go bad so wrapping on it with it turned on might( wake it up) and it'll start woring again as a poor connection shaken or the worn motors brushes shaken down where they make connection again. Then you say the rest of the lights work do you mean that the brake light bulbs come on with the hazard swich entergized? or do the rear lights just light yellow turn lights only? I'd check or even replace the brake light buld=bs before I'd do anything else.their are other things that don't work if the fuses were involved and the same goes for the heater rear blower as the front blower uses the same fuse.

2000 Monte Carlo blinkers work some time have to tap /hit dash board by hazard switch to make them work. Control switch on heater blower not working light out. I have to put the fuse in on passenger side...

For the blinkers you need to replace the hazard switch. This will take care of your problem. For the blower,if this is what you mean by heater won`t shut off.You need to replace the blower motor resistor. This will fix your blower not shutting off.The light for the knob you will have to remove the control panel and replace the bulb if it is replacable. Some of these models you have to replace the control panel to get the lights to work.I hope this helps Heidi and let me know if you need anymore help.Good luck.

Blinkers not working at all and the heater is

If both your hazard flashers and turn indicators are not working, replace your Flasher Module,
If turn indicators only are not working replace turn indicator switch
The heater is probably a seized blower motor if fan is out, if there is heat and no air flow. If no heat check thermostat.
Good Luck on your repairs. If there anymore I can do ask.

Brake Lights and Blinkers don't work

try tapping the hazard switch on and off a bunch of times fairly hard. these switches have a tendency to go bad and neither the hazards or turn signals will work
