Mercedes Benz Cranks over but will not start

I start with a question. Is your vehicle petrol or diesel? If is a diesel engine and you do have a cold start difficulties,be first check: a) your battery to be strong in power to manage a quick crank start. b) check your glow plugs whether are all working.( Even one glow plug does not work the engine can not start ).c) also check the Heat fuel system which normally is under the vehicle and close to the fuel tank( follow the fuel feeding lines to locate), d) also check whether the fuel pump ( electric ) located in the fuel tank is working. Always use a Diesel additive for Non-Frost. If is a Petrol engine again check to have a strong battery, also check whether the fuel pump in the tank is working. Also check whether you do have a clogged fuel filter.

I had a failed tail light which I replaced but ever since then the glo plug warning light is constantly on but the glo plugs are fine and the car starts easily even on cold mornings on my 2002 C 270. How...

Dear Sir Glow plug light is on it didn't mean that glow plug faliuer, it mean the power supply is continusly on to glow plug, car will start good even incold condition, please check glow plug timer or show it technician ,but it can cause glow plug failuer in future. Thanks.

Mercedes c220 wont start

Did you mean oil light ?
If so.... have you checked your engine oil level ?

If this is a diesel, perhaps you mean the cold start glow plugs light ?

If this light does not go out, the problem is in this department, normally fuse or the relay.
If it is really cold, this is why the engine will not start, as the glow plugs are not functioning.

Good Luck !

Wont start sometimes, rough idle.

Sounds like a bad ignition switch. If your car has a lot of miles (200k miles is pretty common), then it's likely.

Once something breaks loose in the ignition switch, well basically you got lil pieces of metal floating around making contact where they shouldn't, which create the scenerios you're talking about.

The glow plug light may or may not be related. But you won't know til you get that first problem fixed.

If the rough idle eventually smooths up after it warms up, then yes, you probably need to look at the glow plugs and/or glow plug relay.
