My blazer was starting up ok. drove home, going to leave again, wouldnt start up again. It has this flat device that fits in a little slot; that turns the ignition on; but it just wouldn't start now. I thought it was the starter or the fuel pump.

I own a 98 blazer. When you try to turn over the engine. Does the engine rotate? If yes,it's not the starter or the battery. When you turn the key into the ON position before it starts can you hear an electric motor noise winding up? If yes , the fuel pump maybe OK but if the pump pressure is bad...blazer wont start. Pump runs about 300 plus labor. I've done it..It sucks

no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition

This flat device is a ignition key. Does engine crank over? If so, have a assistant turn key to run possition after you remove fuel filler cap.Place your ear next to filler neck and listen for a humming/buzing sound. This is the fuel pump running. Itshould run for about 5 seconds after the key is turned on then stop.If noise is herd then pump is running. This engine is very sensative to fuel presure. Even if pump runs, a 2 to3 psi drop in presure will cause a no start condition.
