Where is the throttle control sensor located on a 1999 pontiac grand prix gtp

The throttle control sensor is called a TPS which is mounted on the throttle body. You will see three wires that plug into it. The throttle body replaces the old carburetor since the engine is fuel injected as you may know

Yes. Remove the housing (not the hose) and you'll find the thermostat.

2004 grand prix no go with traction control light on.

I had the same problem with my car. I cleaned the throttle body and when i installed everything back, the car would throw 2 OBD codes: P0120 at start up and P0507 when it stalled at a red light. Took it to the dealership and they had to install a new throttle body because the throttle position sensor is internal. Cost = $718.00 out the door. Part is about $480 and labor is 1.8 hours at $99.00/hr (bunch of ****). There is only a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty for work from the dealer so I would recommend doing the work yourself if possible. There is only 2 bolts on top, 2 nuts on bottom, 1 electrical connection, and 1 hose clamp.

How to replace a throttle postion sensor in a 1997 pontiac grand prix 3800l nonsupercharger.

You need a torx socket set and remove the two screws that hold the sensor to the throttle body. The wires unplug from the sensor. Reconnect the new sensor and mount it back on the throttle body. There is no adjustment, it only goes on one way. If your check engine light is on, reset it by disconnecting your battery for about 30 seconds.

1997 pontiac grand prix gt 3800, having accelaration problem and engine will not idle it dies when i let off the gas pedal

Check the mass air flow sensor on the throttle body. It may need cleaning or replaced if the filament is broken.

Car is running rough and has no power. Feels like it is missing also. It only has 63,000 miles on car. Someone told me it could be the idle air control sensor. Can someone tell me if this sounds familiar...

Had the same issue with my 2006 grand prix, gen III 3.8L v-6. Pulled the throttle body, cleaned with throttle body cleaner and the issue cleared. This is a known issue with the 3.8l motor, talk to any good GM mechanic.

When braking in our 1993 pontiact grand am there

Check to see if the rear strut is worn out. These cars are known for the strut to get dirt and water inside (normally there's a protective boot but they deteriorate in time) and it literally grinds the strut to where it gets very loose and wobbly. Also, the top mount rusts away causing the strut to bang around. Hope this helps!

WHERE IS THE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ON A 2005 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GXP?

It is on the top of the engine near the throttle body. It is in the "valley" of the V8 engine, which might not make it immediately visible, but looks like it would be easy to access. It points upward out of the top of the engine, but is below the level of the intake runners. You'll have to remove the "engine beautification cover" to reach it.
