The engine code number is located on the right (passenger) side of the block between #2 and #3 cylinders. There is a flat machined in the block near the #3 spark plug that has a code stamped on it that give the day the engine was built.

Once in a while wont start with the key. Have to start it by toching opposite ends of celliniod together. What could be the problems? How do I locate these problems and figure out which one is really bad?...

The solenoid sounds to be bad, when you cross the terminals to star, you are creating a straight power source to start the starter. You are completing the power circuit in other words.

95 buick century, where is the starter? car randomly wont start

Hello , Is the car a V6 engine? If so it is located in the front lower portion of the engine under or very close to the front ex manifold. How do you know that it is the starter ? What are the problems that its having? Do you have lights ? If you have lights , do they completly go out or severly dim when you try to start the vehical while they are on? Also really check the battery connections very , make sure they are clean and tight. Thank you , Quinn Texada.

Looking for the location of the crank position sensor and the knock sensor for a 2001 chevrolet silverado with a 4.8 8cylinder engine

Crank sensor; right (pass.) side of block above the starter. You may have to remove the starter to remove the crank sensor.

Knock sensor: There may be 2, a front and a rear. Both would be UNDER the intake manifold on top of the engine block one behind the other about 8 inches or so apart. The manifold and associated item may or may not need to be removed to access the sensors.

Starter location for a 1995 jeep cherokee 4.0 litre engine 6 cylinder

Look under the passenger side, behind the tire. It's up under there, so you will have to crawl under to find it. You'll see a silver/black can shaped thing.

Where is the crank shaft sensor located

On a 4.7L It is located just above your starter. I believe you have to remove the starter to get to the bolt for the sensor. Also use a twist motion when removing the old sensor.
