Question about 1992 Chevrolet Corvette
Brought car to GM and they say I need a ecm. Part has been on order with GM for over 5 months and they give me no alternatives.
I have since found some ECM's from corvette salvage dealers, but I don't trust GM mechanuc's, would rather bring to a shop that specializes in vette repairs or high end cars.
Looking for a shop recommendaion in Massachusetts.

Couple of things, no, the chip in the key has nothing to do with the ECM, it's all in the BCM (body control module) and VATS module (Vehicle anti-theft system) You do need to move your blue calibration chip over to the "new" ecm.
Second, while nothing is unheard of, I've been working on Vettes for 10 years and never replaced a computer in a 1992/1993 model. So, that might not be the issue.
