Need to remove the drivers side door panel. What holds it on? I have all the screws off, but something seems to be attached behind the door handle. What is it? How do I remove?

There are plastic retainer clips (called Christmas clips) all around the edge of the door, you will need a trim tool to release them without causing damage to the door panel. Any auto parts store will have this tool. A company called KD tolls makes these, they are about $5.00. Below find a picture of the clip and the tool.

What do i do when the air suspension does not work?

Check your switch in the trunk on the Drivers side and make sure it is turned to ON. There are also fuses in the fuse panel for this device. Look at the owners manual for a picture and size fuse and if there are other things using that same fuse. You could have blown the fuse controlling several things.

The Air suspension is needed to keep from bending other components and the bags may tear if not inflated. There is a diagnostic plug for the Airride which will quickly point to the trouble. It may be a cheap fix or not. But with the scanner for the Airride you will know before repairs are attempted.

Not all Repair shops have the correct tool. Dealers of course do, but you can call around to Body shops and Alignment places before you go.

I have water on the passenger Floor. I have ExactMats on them that cover the stock mats and they had water standing on them. About 10 cc. I don't see anyware that it might be dripping. the floor is wet...

1. If you have had the windscreen replaced at any time then water can enter through poor re- sealing work at the base of the glass and will find it's way to the floor behind the interior trim panels.

2. Check the rubber seals around the door and around the body work for the door aperture. Water can enter at the bottom of the door and run over the sill scuff plates on to the floor. (Have there been accident repairs to the door?) Also check that the door is sitting correctly in the closed position.

3. Remove the interior trim on the door and check that the plastic liner between the steel door and interior trim is in tact.( It might be advisable to have an experienced person do this for you.) If the liner is loose rather than sealed to the door panel, water build up from inside the door with heavy rain will run past the door trim and on to the floor.

Check the drain holes in the bottom of the doors and make sure that none are blocked or partially blocked up. Otherwise water will build up inside the door panel.

A heavy down pour of rain will test water sealing in any car. I suggest you test for water entry by running a hose for a few minutes over specific areas on the windscreen, on the door glass and around the door perimeter. Have someone sit in the car while you do this to watch for water entry. Test one area at a time and keep water off the area you are not testing as much as possible.

Test 1. The windscreen

Test 2 Run water over the door glass and some will run into the door.

Test 3 Run water around the full perimeter of the door (right on the panel gaps).

Need a rough estimate on how much it will cost to have a cv boot repaired on an 1997 GMC Jimmy 4x4.

A transmission shop would cast about 1 hour labor plus the parts. Labor cost is around $75.00 an hour here, and the Reman CV joint with the core exchange is around $80.00 and without the core exchange $160.00. Hope this helps. So best i can give you an average $225.00 but call around a reputable transmission shop, since they work on this type of repair all the time. Good luck.

There is a nylon strap that gears will run to move the window up and down. If the strap breaks or it is no longer connected to the window then the motor will keep working but the window will not move.
Best thing to do is go to a auto windshield replacement shop. They have all the tools and extra parts need to fix the problem. If you take it to the dealer, that will just call a auto glass shop to come in and fix it and charge you the mark up.
After removing the door panel to see what part you need to replace and running around to order the part and extra clips for the door panel that always break, not to forget lots of band aide. There will be blood, alway's blood when working on door panels. Some things are worth the two hours of service.
Good luck and keep me posted if you need instructions to removing  the door panel. If there is an Auto Zone the sell the nylon strap and parts needed for your door and can give the step by step instructions too.
