my lowbeams arent working. when i replace the headlight some months later both the new and old one blew. so i go to get fuses because someone said that could be it, but where the fuse indicator says the fuse goes there is no metal in the box. so what can i do? please..anything would be great.

My left low beam is out. When I tap on it, both low beams go out. Finally, the left stopped working. I think it may be a short in the plug. When I fix the problem, I'll post again.

Heres ya'lls problem .. ur swithch is bad. so you can either buy a new switch or take it to your local shop and get ur switch bypass. and spend less but it wont last that long maybe a few years

I think you probably need to replace your headlight on the low beam side.. there should be two different bulbs on for low beams one for high just turn your lights on and you can tell which one isn't working good luck ray

Is it only one headlight that the lowbeam won't come on or both? If it's only one headlight it is most likely just a bad bulb.

SOURCE: Low beam Headlights do not

Usually the problem is the relay fuses. Listen to see if they are clicking when you turn the lights (low and high). If you can hear the relay switching on and off with no lights coming on and off than replace the relay/s. You will need someone to stand under the hood with the fuse box open. otherwise you'll just be hearing the switch itself. If this isn't the problem than it is probably your light knob/switch.

SOURCE: high beams dont work

Could be that your high beam light's are burnt out and need to be replaced. When you say the the switch is new you mean the lever on the stearing collum is new right?? Good luck

SOURCE: 1996 BMW 328i Low beams, highbeams, radio, not working.

Look under the hood near the firewall on the driver side for the main set.
Look for a black plastic box. I think it has relays also.
You can check the fuses with a multimeter or ohmmeter. Sometime German will look good and be bad.

it might the wiring harness. the wiring harness is a common problem for the sunfires. GM nows about this and put out a service bulletin but it is not a recall and is not covered under warranty.

If I remember correctly, there is only one bulb on each side for the headlights. Is it possible that you actually have the highbeams set but the highbeam filament in the light is burned out so you're not actually using the highbeam?

My left headlight highbeam light works and the lowbeam don't why

the filament on the low beam burnt out. but the high beam didn't. You have a filament for each. 1 for high beam and 1 for low beam in the same light bulb. You need a new head light.

Check voltage at the circuit box and test the high/low dimmer switch. Corrosion on a ground wire could also be the problem.

My headlights only work on highbeam.

Yes there is a relay switch that allows the low to high beam switch to occur. It shoud be mounted under the hood along the firewall. Check your manual too!
