Which engine is in the car? Did the car overheat? Was it low on coolant? The 3.1 and 3.4 engines had very common problems with intake manifold gaskets going out. GM just lost a class action lawsuit about their "Dexcool" causing the gaskets to go out. Depending on the mileage on the car it is possible that GM will pay a portion of the cost to get it fixed if it is the common intake problem.

Heard a constant "clack, clack, clack, clack" then didnt want to accelerate. Died & now wont start. Any ideas??

Check the oil. nothing on the dipstick? happens on these 3.4 engines. Also could have way to much brown oil, intake gasket blown. Clacking is the rod bearings. Replace the engine.

My 2003 Alero, won't start in the morning,, its like its not getting fuel when trying to start it,, it crank fine, but won't turn over,, when I spray some quick start in the intake , it will start,,, and...

Its faulty fuel pump and clogged fuel filter. In your vehicle the fuel pressure is low,due to this faulty fuel pump and clogged fuel filter,so its not starting. But it starts when you spray liquid in intake. The liquid directly goes to engine so vehicle starts.Replace the fuel pump and filter. This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

1988 Ford F350 engine turns but wont start

I had a similar problem. My truck would start fine until it sat after running a while and I shut it off for ten minutes or so.The engine heat heat would rise to the deisel fuel injection pump and the truck would whirl over when I tried to start it, but it would not fire. There is a spring in the fuel shutoff on the injection pump that expands with heat and, as it gets older, sticks so that the solenoid doesn't open. I found that a small amount of cool water poured on the pump would cool it enough to start.
