If the brake pedal is low than the problem could be that the brakes need replacing and the other problem could be a problem with the ABS system

I HAVE A 2009 GMC ACADIA WHEN I HIT A BUMP THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON , THE ABS LIGHT COMES ON AND STABILY TRACK LIGHT COME ON WITH A TROUBLE CODE U073 AND A U121

U073 is a communication code from one module to another to simply put it. Code U073 refers to a communication problem with the electronic brake control module ( Which controls ABS/Traction and stability ). I would suspect a loose connection/shorted wiring or even possible internal problem with the brake control module.If the issue occurs after hitting a bump, most likely a loose connection or the wiring rubbing somewhere causing a short from the brake control module.

My 2001 gmc safari brake and abs light comes on . when I stop and restart the engine sometimes it doesn't come back on for a period of time

There's an intermitant fault in the ABS system, you will need a scanner to read the codes from the system.

The parking and abs light comes on after about two minutes of run time. Brakes appear to be working properly. What could cause this?

It is likely the EBCM it can cost a bit to fix. Have it scanned at Autozone or a GM dealer. Your brakes will function fine if it is but you will have no anti lock brakes.

ABS and Handbrake lamps on

This is usually caused by one of the front wheel speed sensors dropping signal under 10MPH. the first thing to try is to remove both front wheel speed sensors (Behind brake rotors) and clean the area where te sensor goes into the hole. Then lightly grease the sensor O ring and reinstall it.

2001 Mercury Grand Marquis brake and ABS dash lights on and off

The red brake light is the key here. That usually indicateds a hydraulic problem. Check you fluid level in master cylinder and see if it is low. Also the level indicator sensor there in the master cylinder maybe sticking or corrioded. If ABS sees the red brake light it will shut off and turn on the ABS light,also traction control would be disabled as well.

Antilock brakes not funtioning properly on "hard" stops

Yes, I never did like ABS brakes because of this. What you have experienced is the ABS system working as it is designed to do. I know, it doesn't seem like you should still be moving after slamming on the brakes, but here is how it works;
When you apply a fast and hard pedal and the ground beneath you is wet the wheels stop at different times. There are sprockets mounted to the rear of the rotors, with magnetic sensors that monitor the wheel info. for all four wheels mounted next to the brake calipers. On a hard stop when the sensor detects one wheel stopping and another still going, these sensors send "pulses" to each wheel until the vehicle has stopped without the brakes having to lock up. The pulsiing is what you experienced and is a normal part of the ABS function.
Please rate this and let me know if it helped.
