Question about 2002 Ford Taurus

Driver's Side Power Lock is Suddenly Flakey

Maybe it's the cold weather, I don't know. But one minute the lock works fine, the next minute it doesn't. Whether I'm using the FOB or pushing the lock button inside the car, the lock won't open or close.

Any ideas on what the problem might be?

Thanks.

Yes. I can operate the lock with the key or by hand.

My 1999 vw beetle won't start in snow

Old new beetle VW harness has contact resistance problems(vibration of wires) and needs to be recrimped the long wires(vibration can be stopped by silicone rubber anchoring). Cold weather make battery voltages low and needs recharged with handbrake on(headlamps off) 10 minutes warming engine up the whole winter.

Air bag code 33 for a 2005 lincoln town car

2005 Towncar SRS Code 33 (3 flash + 3 flash, repeat this set for twice. then Beep 5 times pause x 5 = 25 beeps every 30min).

This means you have problem with left (Driver) side pretentioner (Seat belt retract system).
It doesn't mean physical belt or retract mechanism. It is just bomb wiring which is part of airbag system.
When airbag deploy, passenger must stay tight in seat otherwise body lean to front then slam back to seat by airbag.
if belt is loose or delay to lock, passenger's body rocks back and forth. So, system use small bomb (Fire power) to lock and retract seat belt when airbag deploy. There is small bomb and igniter in part of Seat belt retractor.
Code 33 is warning for this part on 2005 Towncar.(older model is different meaning in Ford/Lincoln, it's possibly passenger side airbag system for earlier model)
Before you work for any part of Airbag system and touch any "Yellow connector", * *Disconnect battery (negative side is good enough) and wait at least 5 min to clear all power in system**.(Airbag store back up power for few minutes to be able to deploy even in case if power disconnected)
by the way, you should move your driver seat most forwarded position before you disconnect battery to make it easy to work with seat belt.
locate driver side seat belt retractor (in center pillar between front and rear door, you may have to fight with weather strip)

Locate Yellow connector on bottom of Seat belt retractor (it's called "Pretensioner")it is located on very bottom of rear side of retractor.
only one yellow connector. (make sure your battery is disconnected)
Check its physical connection or looseness.if connection looks fine, you may have to replace whole seat belt ($180-$200 in Lincoln dealer)
You can check if pretensionor is good or bad by regular tester, but unless you know how, I won't tell (because I don't wan't you to blow out pretentionor).

I need to know how to get my seat belt to lock for a vehicle inspection on my 1996 Chevy c 1500 driver side

Lock as in the latch like it is supposed to do? If it does not lock in there then the latch may be broke or full of gunk. I can't tell for sure from here.

Or lock as in the belt not pulling out farther? If thats the case then the ratchet mechanism may be bad. But belts don't always lock like that. Some are designed to lock from a sudden movement like when in a crash and the person suddenly moves forward. If you can pull on the belt quickly and it locks its fine. If not then you need to replace the belt assembly as there are no service parts for them.

Door lock and window controls on driver side wont work? Checked all fuses and found no problem. Right side door is working fine but not off the left side control panel on door

Typically take a thin screwdriver and pop the window button up and out of the socket.  Replace this unit but prior to doing so, check the wiring between the drivers door and the body of the car - a black tube holds the wires and if lots of cold weather the cold and movement can crack and fray these wires.
Once you have the button popped out you can test for voltage or exchange temporarily with different switch but switch is typically the problem.

1998 Ford Explorer Door Lock

Hey guys , i got one that i think i know whats wrong but i want to check with others to see, ok so here it is my lock switch on the drivers side only unlocks the doors it does not lock but all the other lock switches in the car fully work so im thinkin maybe its the driver side door lock switch.

This is a common problem with this model. If you access the wires in the boot between the door you will find a broken wire about an inch from the connector. Hope this helps!!
