If the cable is indeed froze then you need to grab the cable somehow near the latch at hood and twist it until it pops open once that is done you need to replace the cable

Lincoln ls car is still running hot after changing thermostat

First when car is running hot stop and pop the hood check and see if the electric cooling fans are running. Second have your radiator cap checked, replace if bad. If neither or these are the issue, with the engine cold start it up and remove the radiator cap. It will take a couple minutes for the engine to warm up enough to open the thermostat. After it gets warm enough that your thermostat opens, (5 to 10 minutes) you should see the fluid in the radiator start to circulate. If this doesn't happen your water pump is out and needs to be replaced. Back to the first thing if your fans aren't kicking on check all your fuses in your engine compartment first. If you narrow down the problem to one of these and need more assistance, just reply to this comment and I will help you further.

WHAT HAPPEN TO A CAR WHEN THE SPARK PLUG COMES OUT

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

If the spark plug is not tight it tends to pop out. No need to worry just tighten it for it not to pop out. It may damage the hood if it pops out with the hood closed.

Hope you find this information helpful enough and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

The hood latch inside of the car broke. I need to pop the hood. I tried needle nose pliers but no luck.

You'lll need a pair of large pliers, or vice grips. If there's not enough room or not enough cable to get a hold on under the dash, find the cable under the hood. It will have a protective sheath of some kind, so ti will look like a large diameter electrical wire. You may have to remove some of the sheath, or insulation,or whatever you want to call it. Remove enough to allow you to grasp the cable and pull it far enough to release the hood latch.

My hood will not open on my 1993 Jeep Cherokee, when I pull my hood release it doesn't pull on anything. How can I get my hood open? I need to get an oil change asap.

oddly enough had this same problem with my car a few years ago. there are a few ways to try it. first pull the hood release and then smack the hood close to the cab (somewhere close to the center) that can release the hood clamp and it may pop up. or you can pull and hold the hood release lever and have a friend smack the top of your hood (while standing in front of the jeep) if these dont work you have to either go under the jeep or through the grille and maually pull the cord that is in the hood latch to open it. then replace the cord. however if the smack technique works just leave the hood open and find the rubber hood stems (theyre the little rubber tipped screw looking things in the front corners of your engine compartment that connects with the hood) and screw them a little to where they raise a couple mm. when screwed up a little they should give the hood enough pressure to pop open when you pull the release lever. long enough for you to tighten the wire connected to the hood release or replace it all together

How do i open my 1990 chevy lumina hood from outside the car?

You have to engage the "hood release" from inside the car...
(lower left, under the dash, on side panel.)

The hood must "pop" up enough for you to reach under the hood at the center front. There is a lever an inch to the right of the center of the front of the hood. Swing that lever up and to the left about 2 inches.
The hood will pop open.

As you lift the hood, notice the horizontal metal rod that holds the hood up. While holding the hood open with one hand, lift the metal rod and insert it into the slot (hole) on the hood, beign careful that it is the correct slot on the hood.

Note: If the hood does not pop up when you engage the inside latch, then push down on the hood (it may be stuck) .... don't push down gently... give it a good push and release.
It will pop up.

I know that you knew some of this, but the detail may help others.
Hope this explains it for you.

Hood release problems

Try a pitcher of hot water. This also works for thawing ice on a frozen windshield.

Hood well not pop when i pull the inside cable latch release

Have someone pull on the cable while you pull up on the hood, if that doesn't work and the cable is broken you will have to get down on the ground and see if you can reach all the way up to where the hood cable comes out of it's protective plastic tubing and connects to the latching mechinism, than pull on cable very hard and it should pop. A short term fix unless you have it replaced right away is this: Use a cutter of some sort and cut through the plastic and all the way through the cable at a long enough distance so you can tie a washer or something to the cable, than you don't have to reach so far up to pop the hood next time. Good luck!
