Nissan quest dead battery - keys locked in van - get hood open

you need too get some sort of hook on the end of a handle, something smaller but still strong enough to pull against with out bending or breaking. then standing at the front of the van using a flashlight look through the grill until you find the hood latch, then locate the black cable running into the side of the latch hook on to it and pull as hard as you can while simultaneously bouncing pressure on the font center area of the hood with your other hand until you hear/feel the hood latch release or "pop"!

95 audi hood latch won't release

Common problem on MANY cars. Try getting an helper to "thump" on the hood while you pull the cable. If this works to get it to pop up, I would recommend lubricating the hood latch assembly with some lithium spray lube before closing it again.

C320 hood release handle won't pop the hood

I don't think there is a day that goes by in the shop where we don't get at least one vehicle that is doing this. Just use two people. One to pull the cable release and the other to slap the hood with their hand and tell it to cooperate. Usually, just a little "jarring" with the cable pulled will get it to pop up.

Cars battery is down due to sitting a while. But can figure out how to open hood we poped it and nothing moved. So how can I manualy open this thing to charge battery?

Here's a little tip.....Have someone pop the hood release while you softly but firmly pop the hood with a closed fist. You want to hit it in the center of the hood on the top part with your fist.Make sure your thumb is pointing up so you don't hurt yourself or your car.I hope this helps, rate me accordingly, Thanks!!

My battery is dead. The key is stuck in the off position and not coming out. My hood release by left steering wheel does not release anything and I can't figure out a way to get my fingers to the release...

Sometimes it helps to have a helper standing at the end of the hood, as you pull the hood release mechanism inside, have the helper pop the hood with palm of hand in area of release mechanism. I haven't looked to see if you could remove front grille?
If there is a national brand autostore in your community, they have been known to make house calls. Possibly, they could raise your hood, replace the battery or give it a charge, whatever. I don't know what they charge?
Sometimes you can charge your battery by hooking up battery charger to battery cable at your starter motor?

Can't pop hood on 2007 Chevy Tahoe

Sounds like the "hood release cable" pulled loose from the clip uneder the hood will have to take a long nose plier reach up from under the car to where the under hood latch is and see if you can get hold of the cable / latch mechanism and release it that way . as far as the battery sounds like the battery is not holding a charge .

Have a 1999 chevy venture van and the hood won't pop. It's going to the dump and the battery is dead so I can't start it. Can you pop it open from the front and if so how?

Well you can have someone else help you as their working the hood latch in and out you get on the outside and gently tap on the hood right at the front of the car where the release is. This should work it usually does anyway. Once it releases use some liquid wrench or wd-40 on the release mecanism. Lubricate it up well.

you have to let that hood release get warm enough so that it will pop open then put some motor oil on the mechanisim so it don't freeze up again.. good-luck ray
