Question about 2002 Porsche Boxster
You will have to go to the fuse panel and "jump" the hood open. There is a little nub that pulls out with a copper band. You will need to hook the positive side of the jumper cables to the nub and the negative to something metal. The hood will immediately open. Hope this helps someone else.

I don't know if you can access it, but the positive side of the battery is normally connected to the starter or the solenoid terminal sometimes locate atop the starter.
You can also charge, but not jump, your battery via the cigarette lighter. I wouldn't go over 4-5 amps charge current in case the circuit is fused.
