In the middle of the valve cover , pull the cover ., this is actually the coil's an ignition module . Should have four or so ten millimeter bolts . An electrical connector with 4,5 ,or 6 wires will be attached on driver side of valve cover .
Sparkplug tube seals are leaking. You will need to remove the valve covers and replace the valve cover gaskets and the round seals in the middle of the cover. the tube seals should come with valve cover gaskets.
You Have Individual Coils Per Cylinder. Remove The Block Cover In The MIddle Of The Vavle Cover To Discover That They Hide Them Very Well. The Spark Plugs Go Directly Down The Middle Of The Valve Cover. You'll See When You Look. Good Luck, Driver's Side Is A Bear.
On the first part, it sounds like you have a valve cover leak.
If you are going to adjust the valves, you will have to remove the cover to adjust them.
I would suggest picking up a repair manual for the proper procedure for adjusting the valves, and the clearances.
