How to locate thermostat on a 2000 taurus se 3.0l duratec dohc i have the new thormostat but do not know the location to install?
On ataurs with a duratec the thermostat is on the bottom radhose underneath the car. you will see a little housing near the radiator underneath the vehicle. they are a bit of a pain to get at
I just had to replace my water outlet on my 2001 taurus 24 valve dohc which is located to the left of the battery its a molded plastic and hose piece it has an inlet and outlet. On the Outlet side the thermostat housing is in line of the hose it is a bit of a pain to loosen if it has never been changed because of the OE spring clips on the hose, I replaced them with screw type clamps for easy access. Good Luck
Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator outlet to the engine, the thermostat is under the cover where the hose connects to the engine.
