Can't find plug for block-heater.!

I have a mazda Protege 2003 and don't know if I have a Block-heater.
If I had one where would the plug be

SOURCE: I have a 97 Mazda

check spark plugs, maybe you got condensation in the wiring! also put the pedal to the floor and try turning the key (make sure car is in park ), almost like flooding the engine kinda! hope this helps , also u can buy an after market block heater! the mazda proteges are known for simple problems, but steady on prices!!

Plug in your car and listen for a "sizzle" sound. If you hear this then your block heater works.... if not..... Call Canadian Tire!

How many freeze plugs does a 2003.5 Mazda speed protege have


there is 4-8 frost plugs(freeze) on the block 2 on each side of the engine and possibly 2 at the front and 2 at the rear on the engine. there is 4 smaller plugs on the heads 2 on each head. you don`t say what engine you have 4 or six.

Where is the block drain plug located


BLOCK drain plug? There are freeze plugs on the block, but not drain plugs on the block.

The heater in my 2003 Protege doesn't work properly .the water is hot but the air is not . any suggestions?


The heater core could be plugged or restricted or there could be a problem with the blend door in the heater case.

I had the same problem a couple of years ago. It is actually located on the bottom of the engine. I have no clue why. They are usually located on the top for easy access. Follow the hose coming from the bottom of the radiator to the engine block.

Which bolts on the altenator and power steering pump need to be loosened to release the belts on a 2003 Mazda Protege?


I don`t know that there is a bolt to loosen the belt tension.There should be a automatic tensioner that you pull back and hold to remove the belt.
