Question about 2001 Chevrolet S-10
I replaced the fuel pump due to low pressure. i was told I should have between 60 and 66 psi eith the key on engine off. With new pump the pressure is about 62 pounds, but immediately starts dropping off. Wondering if fuel pressure regulator could be bad and if so how to test and/or replace. Thanks.
Most fuel injected vehicles have a relay that controls the fuel pump so after the ignition switch has been on for about 5 seconds and the engine is not running, the fuel pump automatically shuts off.
I don't know what your original problem was, but I think if the car runs normally, you have probably fixed your problem. If you don't have a manual, you can probably go to the library and take a look at a manual that covers your vehicle.
