The outside door handle linkage has come off, probably due to a broken clip inside the door. This needs to be replaced.

My door wont open!

There are a number of reasons why a car door won't open. First, make sure the car is unlocked. If it is, check the seatbelt. If your seat belt does not fully retract, it may be closed up inside the door of the car. Sometimes when this happens, the door closes with the seat belt positioned over the door's latching mechanism, causing everything to jam. I cannot close driver side door on my 97 jeep grand cherokee, drivers side is in locked position, door will not close

Just a suggestion as I have seen this before--with door open pull up on outside handle and in door there is a curved latch that can be pulled open with a screwdriver---the hook is likely closed and with opening pressure on the outside handle you should be able to snap it open so the door will close properly---often happens if someone snaps it by accident closed (the hook latch).

Driver side door removal of 1997 lexus es 300

Gently don't force anything. 1st check for any visible screws on door trim & undo. remove window winder if not power window you can buy a tool for this. carfully pull the trim out from the bottom of the door & work up. You will probably find it stops near the door handle. There is probably hidden screws behind the inner door handle trim & don't forget arm rests. just be gentle & yu should work it out & not brake anything

I have a Lexus 1996 ES300 and the passenger side door will open from the inside but not the outside.

The steel rod that connects the outside door opener from the door lock is disconnected. This rod pushes down the lever of the door lock when you pull up the door opener.

The drivers side door will not open at all, from the inside, or outside, it used to

THE PLUNGER, IE CENTRAL LOCKING MOTOR IN THE DOOR IS STUCK IN THE LOCK POSITION. WHEN THE CENTRAL LOCKING IS OPERATED, CAN YOU HEAR THE MECHANISM IN THE DOOR WORKING? IN NOT YOU WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE DOOR CARD AND CHECK THE CONECTOR TO THE SOLENOID/PLUNGER.

Drivers do will not open

very difficult. you literally must rip the door trim panel off the door. its made to come off with the door open. sounds like the actuator cable for the latch is disconnected or broken. just because the lock looks unlocked that dosent mean it is, it may be the lock cable at the latch. the latch assy is located inside the door.

Drivers side door wil not unlock

There is lock linkage inside the door panel. many of the parts are plastic and are designed to break if someone attempts to break into your car (I had this happen to my 87 camery) I replaced the green plastic "knuckle" and it fixed it.
