Switch in question should be under dash comming out of alarm. could be a flip switch.in order to start vehicle, disconnect battery. turn key to on position. reconnect battery. then start vehicle. this will allow you to by pass alarm until battery dies of key pod is used to reset alarm.

SOURCE: how do i turn off alarm temporarily(valet feature)?

First you have to know where the valet switch is located. When you locate the switch turn ignition to on position ans flip the switch. the led light for the alarm should stay on STEADY (with out flashing).

SOURCE: Need to turn the valet switch off On 1999 Nissan Maxima

Look for alarm Brain box and look for wires coming out black and red going to valet switch. to turn valet on turn ignition in ON position and press-switch or flip depending on the type of switch. If it a basic alarm just disconnect the main wiring harness to alarm box- unplug and the car should start. Good luck and thanks for using FIX YA

SOURCE: where is the valet switch for honda accord 2002 lx?

Hi,
Does the vehicle have an aftermarket alarm system? Is the valet switch for this what you are looking for? If so, it depends entirely on who installed it as where they have put it, although it's usually under the dash on the driver’s side. Some alarms have different sequences that you have to go through to put the alarm into valet mode; it's not usually just a switch that you flick. Best to pop into an alarm or stereo installer and see if they can spot it for you, or if the car is immobilized, find out what sort of alarm it is and call an installer for the info on the valet procedure.

I put in a rebuilt motor. It worked with the key before fine with old motor. Now I can not it to turn over without an alarm system coming on. I need to know why?

You most likely disconnected the battery in the process of the engine change. Leave your drivers door open... locate the alarm VALET switch under the dash and hold it depressed while turning the key. You may have to cycle the key sitch 3 to 5 times while holding the valet switch to get the alarm system to operate normally and allow you to start the vehicle. This is normal... anytime the battery is disconnected.

Valet switches are usually black, circular, and about 1/4 inch in diameter on a bracket that is very flimsy that is 1 inch wide and about 3 inches long in an L shape.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

I believe that the alarm system in the car is draining the battery also causing the car not to start.....I want to disconnect the alarm system or disarm it but cannot locate the valet switch...my friend...

This sounds like a factory alarm, so it is unlikely that it is draining the battery. Much more common is alternator diodes. diagnosis is pretty easy for a shop, consider using one for this issue.

I believe i can turn off my alarm temporarily(valet feature) on my 2003 honda element. does anyone know how?

I think it goes like this, but if I'm wrong, it is in the manual:

Hold the door open lever in open position and press the lock button at the same time. This will lock the car w/o the alarm activated.

Hopefully i haven't just wasted my time and yours, but i can't think of any other type of valet switch, and your description was pretty minimal. Cheers, Mark.
