Question about 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I have a 99 jeep grand 4.7 turn signals will not work wen u first start driving but will work after 25 to 45 min of driving.they will work untill i is shut off for over a 2 hours. hazard do not work at the same time as the turn sigals do not work.
Check your charging system and battery. Low voltage will give both the symptoms you listed. As you drive, some recharging will return system to near normal, till it sits again. I'd pay close attention to alternator output...You may have one bad diode. This added to a battery with low capacity will look the same as what you listed.
To make a "quick check" put a set of jumpers on it and connect to another battery. If directionals work properly then check everything I've said. A "alternator "quick check" is to put a voltmeter across the battery. Running with no accessories on you should see between 13.5-14.0 volts. With accessories on including lights on hi-beam, you should see no less than 12.9 volts and after a few minutes voltage should not fall off. Your battery should read no less than 12v after standing overnight (slightly less if near 0 temps)but definitely not less than 11.9. Also, make sure alternator drive belt is sufficiently tight and not slipping.
