Question about 2006 Chevrolet Impala

1 Answer

How do you replace the tail light on the 2006 Chevrolet Impala? Do you just open the trunk, loosen the screws behind the tail light assembly, and then just pop-out the tail light assembly?

I loosened the screws but it didn't pop-out. Maybe the assembly is supposed to stay in place but the back can be opened from the trunk. I don't know. Please help.

2006 chevy impala rear tail light...

there is a connector that plugs into the light that should be looked at. is there any water leaks anywhere. there were problems with water leaks on some malibu models around the tail lights. pell open the inside covers and get to the tail light to inspect for this. also check those bulbs just in case they did go bad. any condensation in the light? not sure if the Impala has a single fuse for both tail light or one for each but you should check fuse box under dash and under the hood. good luck

How to replace the rear taillight assembly of a 2006 impala

Hello jreigle, my name is JShreader. Thank you for choosing

Open the Trunk Lid. Now...There is a Nut holding the Trunk Liner Carpet to the body of the Car. Remove it and pull the Liner downwards out of the way. Now you will see 2 more Nuts holding the Tail Light Assembly to the Vehicle. Remove them and the Tail Light should now be free. I uploaded a picture for you showing how it is done. You can download it by clicking HERE. I hope this helps you. If you have any more questions or need any more diagrams, please don't hesitate to ask...Thanks again, JShreader!
