Question about 1996 Dodge Dakota
My 1992 Dodge Dakota had a heater fan problem this past weekend. The fan just will not work. The AC clutch works, the vacuum chambers all work, all the fuses are good. The fan will not work at any speed. Any ideas? Where is the actual fan located and how hard is it to remove? Is there a fusible link attached to the fan? Is there a connection that could have come loose I should check before I start taking this thing apart? Thanks in advance. I have the same problem with my dakato sport 3.9 all fuses are fine so I replaced the resistor plug which is in the upper rigts side passenger side, blower still not working would my next step be to replace the blower itself? dave firstname.lastname@example.org
The fan generally is located under the dash on the passenger side... while you are there you will notice a couple wires plugged into the side of the duct work near the fan... that's your resister block for the fan speeds... it's likely failed... remove the two or three screws holding it in... unplug the connecter and replace it.
