1998 Mazda Millenia check engine light

I posted my problem yesterday and was told to repost the code when I got it and here it is P0420 can you please tell me if this code has anything t9o do with the catalytic converter? I have noticed that this car seems to be using more gas than it should be. Please help and let me know what this code means.

    Emissionwez, can you please help me out with the code retrieved from the computer? The code is P0420 and is it related to the catalytic convertor because I've noticed that the car seems to be using to much gas. I filled it up and half put only 100 miles on the tank and it reads less than half a tank now. Please help me

    tenho um 99 mazda Milenia que tinha o chek engine light aceso usei o meu scaner e detectei o code-420 pensei de ser o converter e fiz o replace mas passado uma semana voltou de novo o code (420 agora penso que será um (02 sensor mas como o carro tem (4 02s qual será o que me está dando problemas será que alguem me pode ajudar como chek os (02 sensors porque não quero tomar a opçào de comprar os 4 me ficaria muito caro para mim por favor se alguem me ajuda porque este carro ja me está a por a cabeça em agua.

A solid check engine light means the ECM, or computer, has detected a fault with a sensor, solenoid, etc. A blinking check engine light means the fault has either temporarily gone away, or been repaired. Stop by Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts and have them scan your OBDII computer in your car. From there, we can further diagnose the fault causing the Check Engine Light.

Check engine light usually indicates an oxygen sensor malfunction. The switch is usually installed in the side of the exhaust pipe near the engine. In the winter the wire that is connected to it often breaks off. It is usually a simple fix for a mechanic.

It may have one or even 2 coils . Under the engine cover near the firewall . Depends on the size of your engine. your coil (s) may be the problem.
