SOURCE: 2001 gmc jimmy engine warm but heater blows cold air

Disconnect the heater hoses from the water pump and the intake manifold. Get a compressor and blow out the hose (put the air hose into the the hose that came off the mainfold. then flush the system and replace the antifreeze.

I have 1999 GMC Jimmy. It had the 4.3 Vortec in it, would I be able to it out with 4.3 Vortec in a 1994 GMC Jimmy.

The engine will match up but the sensor plugs may not so you may have to swap the sensors between the engines.

I have a 1997 GMC Jimmy with a 4.3L Vortec V6. It will turn over but won't start. It's getting fire and fuel. All the dash lights come on when the ignition is turned on and you can hear the fuel...

On the vortec engines they require 56 pounds of fuel pressure to start a few pounds shy of that you have a dead vortec you will need a fuel pressure guage to verify

What is a Vortec engine?

The "spider" injector is the problem. You're right that one of the injectors is stuck open, unfortunately it has to be replaced as an assembly. This a common problem on the Vortec V-6's. When you were checking the fuel pressure, the fuel was passing through the open injector, giving you a low reading. After replacing the injector assembly, be sure to change your oil before you start the engine. I'd be willing to be you have a pint or two of gasoline that has gotten into the crankcase. That injector unit will cost you around $350. It's not too hard to put in, just be careful.

A 2001 Jimmy with vortec v6 has ticking or clcking sound when engine is cold but disapates when when warms up. Just had oil changed and all levels are normal.

This could be either your fuel injection system or lifter noise. Make sure you use 5W30 or 5W20 oil in the winter. It will get to the top of your engine faster which is the most common cause of wear.

You might try about a half cup of Lucas Oil suppliment. It's great stuff and a little goes a long way to internal protection.
