Yes it is easy to get to. should be where the top radiator hose connects to the radiator housing . Housing is bolted to the engine. Two bolts, thermostat sits under this.

Also, if your thermostat is not oprning up you wil;l only get cold air. so this could be the problem too.

Is the temperature gauge inside reading alright?

Replacing a thermostat

Buick Park Avenue Thermostat Repair Recommendations Best Practices
  • The entire cooling system should be inspected and tested when the thermostat is replaced.
  • A high-quality OEM thermostat should be used. Poor quality thermostats may not function properly and can cause damage to the engine or components of the emission system.
Common Symptoms
  • A thermostat that is stuck closed will cause the vehicle to overheat.
  • If the new thermostat does not immediately resolve engine temperature problems, the cooling system needs to be checked for other issues.
  • A thermostat that is stuck open can cause the engine to run colder than normal and set the Check Engine Light. It may also cause poor fuel mileage and the heater to blow cool air.
The thermostat will be at the end of one of your radiator hoses that goes into the engine block; normally at the top of the engine.

92 buick park avenue won't blow hot air - temp control seems to be working

Make sure there are no leaks and that the system is full to capacity. After the vehicle has warmed up check radiator hoses for temperature differecial also check heater core hoses. A significant difference in temperature may indicate a plugged heater core or thermostat failure

U need to replace the air temperature control blend door actuator motor, this requires removing the dash to access the motor for the blend door.

Heat only blows out on drivers side

you probably have a cable that has bound up under the dash. This will be where the panels open and close to let air come out of different vents.

1996 buic park heater starts to heat then afer a minute blow cold

it sounds like you have a blend door problem. This is located in the HVAC sysem it closes a door from cold side to hot side. sounds like a bad servo motor or a vacuum leake on that motor. Hope this helps you, please rank this solution
