Question about 2005 Ford F-150

I have 2005 ford F-150 and I'm driving down the road and i lose gas i step on the pedal and and nothing i shut off the car and re-start it works. that happened this morning. now its 2:00 am and i get off the exit and it does it again but now the engine light is on. but its doing it frequently

    hey, i have the same problem. 1st accurance was at 10 degrees. engine shut down doing 45 to 50 mph. hard restart and check engine lite on. read code and had something to do with throttle. sorry dont remember exact code. second accurance at 13 degree and engine stayed running just had no throttle. i will be taking to ford to get fixed. only 52,ooo miles on truck. i will let u know next week.

    Had my 2005 f150 in the shop a few months back, same problem, during cold weather had rough idling especially at red light, stop signs, etc. Today, I had to have it towed home....lost all power. It only has 45,000 miles

I had the same problem with my 05 F150. Actually, it started out to be just "rough Idling" for example, stopped at lights... stop signs..Then eventually, I was losing all gas while driving. I had it fixed today at Ford. It was the fuel pump driver module that had to be replaced. Its located underneath the spare tire on the bottom of the truck. Works fine now.. Hope this helps you....

Sounds like A problem wirh the Drive by wire setup - Have seen same prob in Jaguar's w/3.0L v6 eng. the throttle assy motor failed. this put in limp mode (45mph only) solution was salvage part as new was 1200.00 check w/shop that can confirm 1st of corse. car-part.com is my favorite dependable sorce

Cutting out when you step on gas pedal hard. Rough idling.
Check the mass air flow sensor connection and clean the thin wires inside with a sensor cleaner and see if that helps.It usally does.

1993 ford f150 shut off driving down the road at 60mph would turn over but not start until after beating on the gas tank and jiggling gas line hoses out of tank truck started and i got it home any ideas...
check the wires on the feed to the fuel pump ,,also check that it hasnt got the cut out thingy on top of the fuel tank like the ford explorer,unless this is only fitted on the europeon models .?

Take that test equip on a road test

Could be a worn out battery

I need to pump the pedal on my 92' ford f-150, 6-cylinder, to get it started. once its started and i start driving down the road it seems like it doesnt want to take the gas. we just installed a new fuel...
sounds like the aluminum plug in the carberator bowl are leaking all the fuel out of the bowl when it sets, one way to fix this is to epoxy glue over them.

long shot when message says guages and the vehicle shuts down it may be going into protection mode i would check fluids on the four wheel drive units like isaid longshot hope this helps

2005 grandprix 3.8 30000 miles just started going down road starts losing power and shuts off indicates disable and something about the throttle disable and when i take the gas cap off it will start but...
CHECK YOUR ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR.LOOK FOR LOOSE BOLTS OR LOOSE CONNECTOR.THE APP SENSOR IS LOCATED ON ACCELERATOR PEDAL ARM.

When wet it loses power
have them check the crankshaft sensor. sometimes they crank and when the water hits them the car dies out. its quite common on the 3.0l
