Yes it does have a nut on it. Its a Hinda Civic CX. The pump is off the car now and the nut just doesn't want to turn to loosen. And yes the pulley is spinning when you try to loosen it.

    I will try that. Thanks

1 thought is to stick a bar or something thru one of the holes in the pulley and as you try to turn the nut the bar will hit on the case/pump housing and make like a wedge . common practice , or if you had a chain wrench , its like a oil filter wrench kinda , you wrap the chain around the pulley and it wedges against the pulley so you can take the nut off , but a big screw driver , prybar , rod of some sort thru the pulley holes againt the pump is a good solution , works on cam gears too . good luck .

How can i set the timming on a 2000 honda civic without pulling the harmonic balancser,i had to replace the head

I would remove the crank pulley . this timing set up must be correct. you are trying to take a short cut but i would not advise that.
Remove the crank pulley and also replace the timing belt and water pump while you are there. if timing belt is installed wrong piston to valve damage will occur and you will be removing head again to have valves replaced. here is a diagram of the timing marks, if you wish to do this with out removing the crank pulley (balancer) then good luck and be careful, i am not sure what size engine you have but this is for a 2000 honda civic, 4 cylinder, they are the same,

I think you are putting head back together here are a few diagrams to help you with the timing belt. good day.7_27_2012_5_30_55_pm.gif7_27_2012_5_31_10_pm.gif7_27_2012_5_31_24_pm.gif

I almost have the water pump off but there is one bolt that is behind the power steerng pulley that I can not remove. I was wondering how to remove the power steering pulley?

To remove the pulley wheel from the power steering pump you typically have to remove 3 bolts but to get to those 3 bolts you have to use a socket and go through the holes on the pulley itself.

Alternator removale and instalaton

Forget about it. The alternator removal procedure involves
partially removing the driveaxle beneath it and steering
and suspension components. However, if you want to
give it a shot, you will need a repair manual.

I need to replace my 2007 Honda Odyssey Power Sterring Pump? How hard is this and would it be better for me to take it to someone to have it done?

Not that bad to do, loosen nut on center of pulley before removing belt, this way it will hold pulley while loosening nut, after that remove belt, remove both power steering hoses, now remove pulley and both mounting bolt to power steering pump, install new pump in reverse order.

hard to steer is not the pump in most cases, it is the power steering rack and pinion steering gear.

disconnect the engine mount on the side and carefully raise that side of the engine, also remove the water pump pulley, u will need a PS pulley puller, u can borrow one form most discount auto parts stores for just a deposit.
