Question about 2003 Chevrolet Suburban 1500
Both right & left front axles need to be replaced. I need info,or wh to find the info, on average cost of parts, & on how to do it.
The axles are about $100 each. The short version is you must jack up the front end. Then support the car by the frame and let the suspension hang. Bust loose the lower ball joints and sometimes a tie rod. Remove the large axle nut at the center of the hub and knock the axles out of the hubs, them remove them from the front axle center section. In reality its not quite so easy, but it is do able. You can probably go to the local library and take a look at a maunal for your vehicle and get a little better idea.
